A German Angel

Hey People!

So first of all, I received 2 packages this week. Shout out to the Dalley Family for the love they sent me, in the form of a Card and tie holders and an amazing talk from D. Todd Christopherson. Thanks a bunch. I really enjoyed it.

Also, the package from you, my Family came through. Whatever you did worked. Just, from now on, put Kirche Christi on it. ;) We put my Name temporarily on our Mailbox, so it worked out, but it would be better from now on to do that.

I did love the package though. The bread/Cookies were a Little stale, but oh well. The branch will LOOOOOVe the Root Beer extract. I garuntee it.

I did not, however, get any letters yet....................................Not sure about that.

So, My week:
I memorized the Scripture D&C 84:88 this week. Well, sorta. I tried. I believe it says:
''und wo euch jemand emfangt, da wurde ich auch sein. Ich wurde zu eurer rechten Hand sein, und zu eurer linken. Mein geist wird in eurer Herz sein, und meine Engel rings um euch, um euch zu stützen.''

I felt this in my Service this week, especially as we were accosted on a Straßen bahn (bus) by a very large, very drunk, very black man. After swearing at us repeatedly, he pulled of my Name badge, tossed it in my lap, and proceeded to make threatening motions with his Hands, such as slicing my throat, roughly slapping the side of my head, and knocking on my forehead with his knuckles, as well as swaying back and forth, and Spilling beer on my pant leg and shoe. By what he said, it was obvious that he was targeting us because he was a Muslim, and we had the Name JESUS CHRIST on our badges. He did not like that.

After about 5 minutes of this, the Straßenbahn Driver actually came back, and told him to leave us alone. I was very very grateful for this, and as soon as the drunkard left, a middle-aged German woman came and quickly sat beside us. I was confused at first, but it turned out that she came not only to tell us that she admired us for not reacting violently, but to ensure that the drunkard did not return. It was a small, tender mercy, but a mercy nonetheless.

Something that I did not tell the woman, that I wish I could now, is that I truly felt the love of the Lord through her at that Moment.

It was my first opportunity to truly stand against true persecution in the Name of the Lord, and he had immediately shown me his love afterwards, in the form of this German woman. She, at that Moment, was my angel, um mich zu stützen.

Hopefully this week I can return the favor, not necessarily to this particular German Lady, but to one of God's children. This experience helped to remind me that no matter what we do, if we can lift one Person up today, bring just one Soul a Little closer to Christ, through word or deed, we have fulfilled our purpose, and the Lord is pleased.

And who knows who may be eternally grateful that you merely showed that you care.

Other stuff that happened this week:

I stubbed my thumb playing Volleyball. It is amazing how much you use your thumb. And how much it hurts sometimes. It is almost better now, but seriously...

We went and saw the Wasser Spiele!! Google it. I cant really explain it. It was awesome though. On the way to the Wasser Spiele, we saw the Kassel Stadt Golf Course. Yep. It was gorgeous. It made me want to go golfing.

Oh yeah, and I wanted to let you know about my Book of Mormon Reading. The whole Mission actually just finished reading the Book of Mormon together--I joined in because I was further then they were when I got here--and now I am starting over. I am currently in 1st Nephi 4, and am trying to read 1 chapter a day. This month I am also studying the book of Genesis every day, the creation as a whole, and some General conference talks our Mission president gave us. It is good.

Well, lots to do this week, particularly today. I will do my best to send Pictures next week, it just takes so Long...anyways.

Love you all!! Be safe!! I'll take good notes on Elder Bednar for you!
